Conditions We Treat

Acne is a skin condition that is commonly associated with pimples, papules, cysts, whiteheads, and blackheads. It can be associated with excess bacteria, often linked to excess oil in the skin, can be related to rosacea, as well as caused by hormonal changes.

Hair loss can be embarrassing for both men and women. Often times it is a genetic problem that can leave you feeling helpless. Prescription drugs can be ineffective and carry side effects. Surgical options can be very expensive and do not help to treat the underlying causes of hair loss.

A scar depends on the original cause of the injury or wound, the care provided to the wound, the area of the body, and the general health of the individual. A scar may develop and require revision or remodeling through laser treatments, SilkPeel, or prescription skincare.

Spider veins are ancillary branches of the deeper network of veins in your body. Most often seen as small purplish/red leg veins, and often confused with reticular veins (larger blue veins), these veins have developed over time to support the vascular system most often in times of trauma and/or constant wear and tear on the body.

Blue Seas Med Spa is excited to introduce the latest addition to our innovative services, CoolSculpting. This procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively, without surgery or downtime.

Wrinkles

Wrinkles can be caused by either dynamic muscle movement known as expression lines from smiling (crow’s feet), frowning (brow furrows), and surprise (raising forehead lines), lip lines from pursing or sucking movements (perioral), or caused by changes in the underlying volume structures and connective tissues of the face.

With age and after childbirth women start to notice symptoms related to vaginal health that may affect their quality of life. Women are affected at different levels. For many post-menopausal women or women on certain medications after breast cancer treatments vaginal atrophy or dryness is a common symptom they may experience.

Dark Circles

Dark circles under the eyes are a cosmetic complexity that concerns many aging individuals because it makes them appear tired. On the plus side, there are excellent skincare and mineral makeup options that can help treat and brighten the appearance of the area.

Dull Skin

As the skin ages, the process of natural skin exfoliation (referred to as desquamation) slows down. When this occurs, the healthy young skin cells are lying beneath a barrier of dead dry surface cells. This can cause the skin to look uneven, rough, dry and dull.

Fine Lines

Fine lines are often caused by sun damage, exposure to toxins such as cigarette smoke, and chronic muscle contraction during facial expressions. In most cases, fine lines are easily corrected through our skincare options.

Melasma

Melasma is a condition that appears as patchy brown spots (hyperpigmentation) on the face that is often related to hormonal changes in the body. Many have referred to Melasma as “the mask of pregnancy” due to its common link to hormonal changes with pregnancy.

Redness

Redness is commonly associated with sun damage. The skin produces a reactionary response of redness (dilation of blood vessels) when it is traumatized (ie: in instances of sunburn or heat) that over time results in a network of very fine blood vessels that network together to produce a background red appearance in the skin.

Skin Laxity

Skin laxity is caused by both internal aging factors linked to genetics and diet as well as external aging factors linked to exposure to aging elements such as smoke, smog, sun and free radicals. Over time the fibers that hold the skin tissue intact begin to weaken and break, causing gaps in skin tissue and less elasticity (or spring).

Sun Damage & Spots

Sun exposure is the greatest contributor to aging skin. It can come in the form of solar lentigo (brown sun spots), redness and telangiectasias (tiny spider veins), skin laxity (thin skin tissue) and solar elastosis (loss of elasticity). Treatments include: IPL, laser treatments, and properly prescribed medical grade skincare.

Unwanted Hair

Hair growth is a natural part of the aging process. As our hormone production changes, so does our hair growth in unwanted places. Laser hair removal is a simple and fast-acting procedure to destroy the hair follicles and minimize unwanted hair regrowth.

Volume Loss

As you age, you gradually lose volume in the face due to fat, muscle and bone loss. Dermal fillers are often used in these individuals to replace areas of volume loss, redefine aesthetic features, and smooth unwanted wrinkles.
